Where do I even begin? Marissa and Nick’s elegant New Jersey wedding at Park Chateau was absolutely gorgeous. Between the beauty of the venue, both indoor and out, and all the details, everything came together to create a dream wedding day!
I first photographed Marissa and Nick for their engagement session at the Longwood Gardens – you can see that blog post here! Their timeless engagement was a prelude to their wedding day, as the couple knew they wanted that same elegant, timeless, and sophisticated feel – and they succeeded!
Marissa wore a stunning bridal gown with a cinched waistline of pearls and a long train. Her hair was worn down in long, beautiful waves. Marissa’s veil also featured pearls, coordinating with her dress. Her classic, elegant look was completed by her pearl embellished shoes and her bridal bouquet consisting of white long stemmed roses with pearls placed throughout.
The First Look
Once ready, Marissa and Nick met out in the luxurious garden area for their first look. They were originally on the fence about doing a first look. However, after weighing the pros and cons, they saw all the many benefits of doing a first look. One of those benefits is that it allows you to attend cocktail hour and enjoy the day a little more, rather than spending half the day apart and rushing to do all the photos during cocktails. This was the deciding factor for Marissa and Nick and I am so glad they did because their first look portraits and wedding portraits to follow are absolutely beautiful!
While I will always support my couples with either choice they make, there is something about having a first look moment where it is just the two of you. You can relax and truly be in the moment, because there is no rushing. It is a time to connect before the craziness of the day begins.
Elegant New Jersey Wedding at Park Chateau
The couple exchanged vows in the chapel at Park Chateau, which was decorated with tall clear vases of white roses and greenery lining the aisle. Afterwards the party moved to the grand ballroom. White walls, french architecture, and large windows, create a romantic, light and airy space. Then when you add in the worldy chandeliers, white rose centerpieces, and lit white candles, it was a picture of elegance!
Both Marissa and Nick’s parents have the same July wedding anniversary. Marissa and Nick chose the same date for their wedding day and paid tribute to their parents by having them share a special anniversary dance playing their wedding songs. I love that they chose to share such a special day and moment with those they love most.
These two, who began dating over 10 years ago, have gone through so many life milestones together, from prom, high school graduation, college graduation, first jobs, and now the most exciting chapter of their story is starting.
Marissa and Nick, thank you for allowing me to capture your gorgeous wedding day. Congratulations, as you begin this new journey as husband and wife!
