Wilbur Mansion Wedding | Alexandra and Patrick

A year ago, I captured Alexandra and Patrick’s Wilbur Mansion Engagement Session. At the time, this stunning Bethlehem, PA wedding venue was still undergoing its final transformation before opening its doors. Now, back at this same location, I had the joy of capturing Alexandra and Patrick’s Wilbur Mansion wedding. There is something so special about capturing engagement portraits at the same location as your wedding venue. Not only was it so much fun to see the stunning venue finished, but I loved capturing this beautiful couple around the property and recreating images from their engagement session.

Wilbur Mansion Wedding

Alexandra and Patrick love Bethlehem as well as the charm and modern elegance of The Wilbur Mansion. They fell in love with it when they first saw it, and knew it was exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. Not only did they love the venue, but the city and history of Bethlehem.

One tie to the history of the city and The Wilbur Mansion are tiny figurines of chimney swifts the couple owns. Chimney swifts are Bethlehem’s official bird and have a unique connection to The Wilbur Mansion. The wedding venue’s chimney is home to these unique birds that spend the majority of their life in flight returning each spring, which is why the bird’s silhouette is seen on the venue’s logo. In addition, one of Alexandra’s favorite childhood memories was with her mother saving some chimney swifts that had gotten into her home’s chimney. Alexandra and her mother lovingly brought them to a Pennsylvania wildlife rescue and sanctuary.

Wedding Details

Alexandra’s mother gave her a pocket watch from the 1800s that belonged to Alexandra’s Great Great Grandmother, which we included in the wedding detail shots. The bride’s wedding dress was a clean and classic gown with a long train. Her bridal bouquet was stunning. I loved the combination of cream and peach roses, pops of dusty blue, and gorgeous greenery.

The elegant wedding ceremony took place on the back lawn of the venue. The couple exchanged vows under a circular wedding arch covered in flowers. Afterwards, everyone headed to the reception inside the Mansion. The couple opted for Wilbur Mansion’s “social” package, which is a more interactive style reception rather than the traditional seated and plated entree. The interactive reception included a number of passed bites and fixed stations throughout the event, which kept guests moving and mingling throughout the evening. It was a fun, enchanting evening celebrating the newlyweds.
