Racquel and Michael’s Philadelphia wedding at Glen Foerd on the Delaware was a day to remember. Between the joy and love shared, the stunning natural scenery of the venue, and the elevated wedding details, it was a perfect wedding day. Racquel and Michael’s wedding was the result of them both “swiping right” on a dating app back in 2018. A few days later they met for a drink at The Goat’s Beard in Manayunk located in Racquel’s neighborhood. Mike states he knew this was ‘different’ when Racquel ordered buffalo chicken nuggets (his favorite food) for them to share. Four and a half years later, after many laughs and good times, Michael proposed on a beautiful fall night in October 2022, while the sun was setting at one of their favorite spots in Fairmount Park, Belmont Plateau.
I really got to know them when I photographed their light + airy Philadelphia engagement session. I loved that even back then they had a distinct vision for their wedding day that they wanted to replicate for their engagement portraits. They both LOVE the city of Philadelphia and all things Philly. This city means a lot to them since it is where their relationship started, blossomed, and strengthened.
Philadelphia Wedding at Glen Foerd
They chose Glen Foerd on the Delaware for many reasons, but one of them was its stunning natural beauty, as Racquel loves nature and the outdoors. Glen Foerd features several beautiful natural elements to wow guests, as well as a gorgeous estate this is full of history (just like Philly)! Racquel expressed that Glen Foerd captures the beauty of what Philly is just outside of center city. There is no argument that Glen Foerd on the Delaware is a stunning, waterfront wedding venue that provides a picturesque wedding backdrop. In fact, it is one of my favorite Philadelphia venues!
Their wedding day started with a rainstorm, but stopped and dried up before the ceremony. The outdoor wedding reception took place in the tent which was nice and cozy. Raquel’s mom’s veil was incorporated into her bridal bouquet and repurposed into hair pieces for flower girls. I loved her bridal bouquet that featured both white roses and white anemones. The anemones are white flowers with a blue center. These flowers were a perfect choice as their wedding colors were light blue, navy, and white. The blue center of the flower popped and drew your gaze in.
Their wedding was elegant with a romantic, garden vibe. Taking place in October, they wove in a few subtle fall elements as well, such as featuring Octoberfest as a beer choice and an a delicious apple cider bourbon signature cocktail.
After saying I do by the gorgeous waters of the Delaware, the newlyweds celebrated in the warmth of the tent surrounded by their loved ones. I loved the white linens that draped from the ceiling along with the twinkling lights. Tall white flower centerpieces decorated the round tables. It was an enchanting evening celebrating the newlyweds, witnessing their love, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
