Jess and Eric had the most enchanting Terrain Gardens Wedding at Devon Yard. This stunning wedding venue in Devon, PA, near Philadelphia, incorporates natural elements that are beautifully intertwined to create an idyllic garden inspired setting. I had the honor of capturing Jess and Eric’s engagement session as well, which was at the lovely Longwood Gardens. I love that they combined a garden theme in their engagement as a little prelude to their big day. In addition to the picturesque garden venue, Jess had the most stunning, floor length veil that featured embroidered greenery details. I found the perfect spot to photograph her wedding dress that matched the green vines seen on her veil.
By the time Jess, Eric, and their respective parties arrived at the venue from their getting ready site, I had already photographed the bridal details and wedding dress, so I was ready once she arrived to photograph her getting into her dress before her first look with Eric! I was thrilled that the couple hired Joanna from Hazel Dust Studio, at my suggestion to style the flatlay details. It makes such a huge difference in the final images. I love their elegant flatlay design!
Terrain Gardens Wedding at Devon Yard
The bridesmaids looked chic and sophisticated in their black satin gowns. The beautiful flower bouquets by Pridmore Design featured white, cream, and dusty pink flowers. The same lovely flowers, accented by lush greenery, adorned the wedding arch at their outdoor ceremony. Even though Jess and Eric’s wedding day was a bit chilly and windy, the cozy, intimate atmosphere of the Terrain Gardens completely made up for it.
Jess and Eric wanted very few posed photos, as they prefer capturing candid shots, which is exactly my style! I was able to capture several amazing candid moments of the couple throughout their gorgeous wedding day. After their ceremony, everyone moved indoors for the reception, however, the beautiful garden setting and details continued on inside, merging the two beautiful event spaces seamlessly.
Terrain Gardens is known for their farm-to-table food and their warm bread in a pot, neither of which disappointed! The remainder of the evening was filled with laughter, joy, and great music by the talented Pat and Sean Kelly. Having worked with these amazing musicians before, I knew everyone was in for a treat! They sing and play instruments during the ceremony and cocktails. Then they become DJs for the reception! I think it is safe to say that everyone in attendance enjoyed the evening as they danced and celebrated Jess and Eric’s beautiful union!
Their Love Story
This beautiful couple attended the same middle school and high school, but upon officially meeting in late 2011, they quickly became inseparable. After graduation, Jessica and Eric attended the same University where they grew even closer. However, it wasn’t until December 2014, and after some serious convincing on Jess’s part, they officially started dating. They recall the years that followed “were consumed with unforgettable travels, eating (too much) good food, ridiculous nicknames for one another, and purchasing their first home together in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.”
In the late summer of 2021, Eric surprised Jess with a proposal at Sunset Lake in Wildwood, New Jersey, where friends and family were nearby and ready to celebrate the newly engaged couple.
Jess and Eric’s love is inspiring. Within minutes of being around them you can tell that they are meant to be. Their history together and long-lasting friendship anchor them together. Jess and Eric, it was a joy and an honor to capture both your Longwood Gardens Engagement and your stunning Terrain Gardens Wedding! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together!
